SCIA Engineer 17.1 further expands on the enhancements and functionalities presented in version 17.0. This includes:

The new enhancements in concrete design to EN 1992-1-1 offer a more complete solution with a clear, logical, and time-saving workflow. You can now enjoy even more automated calculations and better presentation of results.
In this version, SCIA Engineer further extends the one-click solution for punching shear design that was presented in the previous version. Engineers do not have to spend their time on modelling and assigning the necessary data for the punching shear calculation. SCIA Engineer does all the necessary data assignment (i.e., location and shapes of columns, columns eccentricity and rotations, openings in the slabs) automatically.
Various small enhancements bring higher speed and better understanding of results.
SCIA Engineer 17.1 adds new options and capabilities to the legend, providing numerical values for the currently displayed results. Some of these new features are available for any result, while others are solely devoted to concrete design.
SCIA Engineer 17.1 extends its coverage of Eurocode national annexes to reflect the latest updates.
We updated the Revit link for composite beam data, steel joist to deliver a complete BIM workflow that covers also design results.

Loads and Load Generators
One of the critical and time-consuming steps in the design phase is the definition and application of loads. SCIA Engineer 17.1 includes several enhancements that help speed up your work in this design phase while complying with specific US-code regulations.
Load panels in SCIA Engineer significantly simplify the process of load definition. The Tributary area method introduced in SCIA Engineer 17 has now been updated to handle a larger number of situations including the distribution of surface loads across panels with openings. (read more)
In many design scenarios, it is unlikely that live loads will exist at full capacity over a large area. For this reason, ASCE 7 allows the magnitude of some live loads transferred to structural members to be reduced using a reduction factor.
SCIA Engineer 17.1 makes it easier to use different units of measurement required due to the project location.

Appropriate default values for object properties for both imperial and metric units
SCIA Engineer 17.1 is now available in two versions: 32-bit and 64-bit. While the finite element solver has been running in 64-bit for several years, SCIA Engineer 17.1 is the first fully 64-bit version. The SCIA Engineer 17.1 64-bit version does not yet contain all the functionalities that are available in the 32-bit version. Therefore, it is only recommended today for (very) large projects, for which the required functionality is already supported.
