Customizable toolbar and keyboard shortcuts

Improvements in the user interface in SCIA Engineer 16.1 share the same aim: help the users to fully concentrate on their work.

The user can add, remove and change the order of commands on toolbars using the Customize command.

  1. Right click on a toolbar free space
  2. Click Customize
  3. In the Customize window, click toolbars
  4. Create New toolbar
  5. Drag required commands into the new toolbar.

Moreover, using the Customize command the user can create his own keyboard shortcut for each SCIA Engineer service.

  1. Right click on a toolbar free space
  2. Click Customize
  3. In the Customize window, click keyboard
  4. Select a Command
  5. Define New shortcut key
  6. Assign shortcut

New shortcut can be defined only by: dead key( CTRL, ALT,...)+ key. (Example: CTRL + D for deformed structure)

This enhancement enables the user to start commands faster without the need to access the main tree.

View parameter settings: save settings

View parameters setting is an important functionality that enable the user to define what part of the model should be visualized on the screen. This dialogue window with multiple tabs is used to adjust parameters of visualization for all or selected elements of the model (structural members, supports, loads, labels, member data, etc.).

New Save and Load bottoms have been added to the View parameters settings dialogue. The users can save the settings made in one project and load them to another one. Alternatively, he/she can define different settings for different purposes and easily swap between them.
