3D Wind load generator – national annexes
3D Wind load engine – calculations according to national annexes
A new version of the 3D Wind load generator is included in SCIA Engineer v.2013.1. The 3D Wind generator now allows for recommendations in national annexes of EN 1991-1-4:2005+A1 to be taken into account in the calculation of wind pressure coefficients and wind loads. The national annexes of EN 1991-1-4:2005+A1 give country-specific rules and coefficients to be used when deriving wind loads. Custom rules and values from NA are implemented for the following countries:
- The Netherlands;
- United Kingdom;
Design according to the Czech, Finnish, Irish, Polish, Romanian, Slovenian, Swedish, Danish and Greek national annexes is also covered, as these annexes adopt the default values given the main standard EN 1991-1-4:2005+A1. In the following versions of the software, the national annexes for Germany, Slovakia, Belgium and France are to be added.
The example applies only to the simplified method. For the exact method, all the zones are always considered (applies only to the Austrian NA).
dir 90 - the area of zones F and G is > 20% of the total roof surface, which means that F and G are taken into account
dir 180 - the area of zones F and G is < 20% of the total roof surface, which means that only zone H is taken into account
